On 3-6 of September the fifth edition of the Promised Land Art Festival took place in Łódź. The event was co-organised by CD PROJEKT RED, and aimed mainly at people interested in the creative industry.
Promised Land gathers hundreds of visual art enthusiasts each year, especially those interested in video games, motion pictures or popular culture in general. Participants have the opportunity to meet with experts from the creative industry, and take part in various lectures and workshops.
Among the invited speakers of this edition of Promised Land were Michał Markiewicz, an award-winning artist who had worked on many renowned movies at Pixar Studios, and Masahiko Otsuka, president of Studio Trigger, which produced the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series in cooperation with CD PROJEKT. In addition, lectures were given by CD PROJEKT’s employees, including Jakub Knapik, Global Art Director and Paweł Sasko – Quest Director.
The main part of the Promised Land Art Festival was preceded by an Open Day, dedicated to people who are starting their professional careers and would like to work in the creative industry. Besides participating in panel discussions and lectures, they had a chance to consult their portfolios with professionals. They were also able to learn more about the game development industry from recruiters present at the event.
Promised Land was organised by CD PROJEKT RED in cooperation with the city of Łódź and EC1 Łódź – City of Culture.
