On 19 February 2024 CD PROJEKT was entered in the registry of organizations covered by the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS). This recognition confirms successful deployment of an eco-management system at the Company, pursuant to the ISO 14001 standard and the EMAS regulation. Being listed in the EMAS registry also shows that the Company meets the highest standards and requirements related to environmental protection.
Care for the environment has always been part of CD PROJEKT’s DNA. Four years ago we purchased the property complex which now houses our corporate HQ, and we have been progressively transforming it into a “green campus” ever since. The new parking structure opened this year comprises many eco-friendly solutions; its rooftop also houses a special comfort zone for our team members, complete with a basketball court and an open-air gym. We also invest in renewable energy sources: so far we’ve deployed 400 solar panels throughout our Warsaw campus, with a combined power of 135 kWp. – says Piotr Nielubowicz, CD PROJEKT’s CFO responsible, among others, for the Company’s activities in the area of environmental and climate protection.
Issuance of the EMAS certificate was preceded by independent external audits carried out by an accredited environmental auditor – TUV NORD Polska Sp. z o.o. In the course of preparing for the certification process we performed an inventory of environmental activities, identifying and assessing those aspects of our business which have – or may have – an impact on the environment. We defined specific targets and goals in each area where this effect is most notable. We also released our first Environmental Statement which provides a comprehensive overview of how we manage environmental and climate-related issues, and describes specific activities undertaken by CD PROJEKT in this regard.
Deploying the EMAS system enables us to more effectively manage risks and opportunities related to those aspects of environmental and climate protection where our activities have a particularly substantial effect. – says Małgorzata Kaźmierczak, CD PROJEKT’s EMAS Representative.
