The first months of 2024 reinforced the positive sentiment around Cyberpunk 2077, which contributed to strong sales of the base game and its expansion – Phantom Liberty. For CD PROJEKT RED it was also a period of intensifying work on future projects.
In April CD PROJEKT RED was presented with the “Evolving Game” award for Cyberpunk 2077 at BAFTA Games Awards 2024.
– We are very happy to receive such a prestigious industry award. We see it as vindication of our hard work on Cyberpunk 2077 over the past three years, as well as on its well-received Phantom Liberty expansion – says Michał Nowakowski, Joint CEO of CD PROJEKT.
On 10 May 2024 Cyberpunk 2077 crossed – for the first time ever – the “overwhelmingly positive” ratings threshold on Steam. This means that over the preceding 30 days at least 95% of gamer ratings on the PC platform had been positive. – This is very encouraging – especially in light of our work on further projects from the Cyberpunk franchise – remarks Michał Nowakowski.
The CD PROJEKT Group posted 227 million PLN in consolidated revenues for the first quarter of 2024. The Group’s consolidated net profit stood at 100 million PLN, which is 44% more than the year before.
– We are pleased with the sales figures for the first months of the year, as well as with our 44% net profitability. Strong earnings went hand in hand with solid operating cash flows – which amounted to 181 million PLN in the first quarter of the year. We will now need to invest in future projects, but this is something we’re well prepared for, owing to our cash reserves which we have accumulated over the years. We also count on continuing strong sales of our back catalogue – summarizes Piotr Nielubowicz, CFO of CD PROJEKT.
