CD PROJEKT RED proudly announces that Cyberpunk 2077 received the award for “Best Ongoing Game” at this year’s The Game Awards gala, which took place this Thursday in Los Angeles.
The prestigious event saw CD PROJEKT RED’s Game Director Gabe Amatangelo and Quest Director Paweł Sasko receive the award from Anthony Mackie, star of TGA-nominated Twisted Metal and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. In their acceptance speech, Gabe and Sasko thanked both the “hundreds of people who have put their hearts and souls into it” as well as the many players who have played Cyberpunk 2077 over the past three years.
In his speech, Gabe thanked CDPR developers for “the tenacity and the resilience of the team of wanting to bring forward stories that impact, worlds that are immersive, and of course gameplay [that is] fun as hell.” Sasko mentioned the recently released Update 2.1, which added to Cyberpunk 2077 many community-requested features, including a fully functional metro, partner hangouts, replayable car races, as well as new accessibility features.
