Starting today, GOG.com customers can pay for their purchases in six additional currencies: Polish zlotys, Canadian dollars, Swiss francs, Norwegian kroner, Swedish kronor and Danish kroner. Accordingly, the total number of currencies now supported by the service has increased to 11. The new feature is meant to provide added convenience for platform users – previously GOG.com only supported payments in Euro, American dollars, Australian dollars, British pounds and Russian rubles.
We are working to attract new customers on local markets, thus diversifying our revenue stream. Introducing support for payments in six additional currencies is a natural step along this path. What’s important, the actions we undertake today are in line with the CD PROJEKT Capital Group strategy for 2016-2021, announced in March 2016 – Piotr Karwowski, Management Board member in charge of digital distribution of CD PROJEKT Capital Group products.
GOG.com is a digital distribution platform which conducts global marketing of handpicked videogames – brand-new releases, games in production and cult classics. GOG.com was founded in 2008 and currently carries products by more than 350 developers and publishers, including such well-known brands as Activision, Bethesda, Disney, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Square-Enix and Warner Bros. GOG.com also provisions the GOG Galaxy platform and client software, enabling multiplayer online gaming and facilitating access to a variety of social and community features. The platform is currently available in four language versions – English, German, French and Russian. Each version features a fully localized website, localized games, native customer support and integration with locally popular payment channels.
