Polenergia to supply renewable energy to CD PROJEKT: the companies sign a six-year contract

Polenergia – Poland’s largest privately held energy company – and CD PROJEKT – one of the world’s most widely recognized video game developers and publishers – signed an agreement concerning purchases of renewable power. The six-year SMART cPPA contract covers nearly 22 GWh of zero-emissions electrical power.

The energy contracted by CD PROJEKT’s Warsaw campus carries guarantees of origin, ensuring that it is fully generated from renewable sources. In the framework of the purchase agreement signed with CD PROJEKT, this energy will be produced at Skurpie and Rajgród wind farms, as well as at the solar power array in Szprotawa.

We are happy to be able to deliver renewable energy to one of the most widely recognized Polish companies in the world. Polenergia’s partnership with CD PROJEKT proves that even the most technologically advanced global market players can actively contribute to the energy transformation process and roll out environmentally conscious solutions. It represents a step towards a more sustainable future on the part of the creative industry. – says Robert Rutowicz, Vice President of the Board of Polenergia Sprzedaż, member of the Polenergia Group.

The newly established collaboration supports the CD PROJEKT Group’s goal for 2030, which – irrespective of the Group’s growth – aims to reduce emissions related to the Group’s operational activities by 42% by 2030. Given its long-term character and competitive terms of collaboration, the contract also secures stable pricing and predictability of supplies in a changing market environment. The estimated value of the contract amounts to approximately 12 million PLN.

I am proud that, starting in 2025, the energy contracted for CD PROJEKT RED and GOG.com’s Warsaw offices and server rooms, comes from wind and solar power. This is another step towards building a modern and environmentally friendly campus, where the creative energy of our teams is unlocked. – remarks Piotr Nielubowicz, CFO and Board Member of CD PROJEKT S.A.

The contract is consistent with the Energia 2051 standard, which stipulates that 100% of energy supplies must come from renewable sources. Polenergia’s compliance with this standard is attested by an independent certification authority on an annual basis.
